SATPORT introduces an innovative dual security mechanism that combines the security and finality guaranteed by 100% of Bitcoin's hash power with the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) security provided by Cosmos Hub through ICS (Inter-Chain Security). This integration enables the PoS chain to inherit the security and finality of the Bitcoin network.

Security Guaranteed by 100% of Bitcoin's Hash Power

SATPORT is based on a modular upgrade with high integration of the Babylon solution. Babylon acts as an intermediate layer between SATPORT and the Bitcoin network, providing SATPORT with Bitcoin's timestamping service to achieve the security and finality of the Bitcoin network. Transactions that have occurred on the SATPORT chain are timestamped on the Bitcoin network through Babylon, thereby endowing these transactions (occurring on the SATPORT chain) with the same level of security as transactions on the Bitcoin chain.

By inheriting the security and finality of the Bitcoin network, any attack or tampering of transactions written to the Bitcoin blockchain by SATPORT would require simultaneously attacking the Bitcoin itself, making it practically impossible. As a result, the SATPORT blockchain can be considered protected by the full hash power of Bitcoin and enjoys the same level of finality. Once SATPORT transactions are confirmed, they cannot be rolled back or revoked unless the corresponding Bitcoin transactions are also rolled back or revoked simultaneously.

Security Ensured by Cosmos Hub's Shared Security Mechanism

The security of transactions not yet written to the Bitcoin network is guaranteed by the PoS consensus mechanism of the SATPORT chain. During the early stages of the mainnet, active validator nodes on the SATPORT chain participate in the consensus block production. As the mainnet operates smoothly, SATPORT will incorporate Cosmos Hub's ICS mechanism in subsequent iterations, thereby achieving higher security ensured by validator nodes of the Cosmos Hub.
